Aviation
Tibet has international airlines and inter-province airlines.
Gongga Airport locates at south of Lhasa, it is 100 kilometers far from downtown. Lhasa has routes toward Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Xining, Guangzhou, Qamdo, Kunming, Chungtien as well as Katmandu (Nepal). It is extremely convenient for passengers to travel into and out of Tibet.

Road
There are five land routes that come into Tibet. They are: the Sichuan-Tibet highway (Chengdu--Lhasa), the Qinghai-Tibet Highway (Xining--Golmud--Lhasa), the Xinjiang-Tibet road (leaf city --Burang), Dian-Zang Highway (Hsiakuan--Mangkang), China-Nepali road (Lhasa--camphor wood friendship bridge--Katmandu).
The Chengdu-Lhasa highway and the Dian-Zang Highway are both rough. Some segments of road may occur the mud-rock flow, so it is extremely dangerous. But the scenery along the way and the national minority's life is very attractive. China-Nepali road is the main highway which the foreign tourists come into Tibet. the port is the camphor wood. Sure, the Chinese tourist wants to Nepal from Lhasa also must through this road.Lhasa's state-operated long-distance motor station is in the border of Minzu road and Jinzhu road. It has vehicles to places such as Bayi, Qamdo, Chengdu, Rikeze, Gyangze, camphor wood, Golmud. The vehicle types were divided into ordinary and luxurious or hard seat and sleeping berth, therefore the price is also different.


Internal transportation


Bus
Because it is the plateau city which person is few and roads are narrow, therefore Lhasa does not have Bus. But there are a great number of the non-scheduled mini-buses and jeeps full of street. They all have a fixed line, and the majority of lines take Tibetan Hospital as the main terminal. The ticket price is 2 Yuan / people.

Taxi
although Lhasa is not a big city, it has 1500 taxis. Especially, all taxis are Santana(volks wagen) Taxi does not consider mileage. Inside the city, price is10 Yuan. If you want to out the city, the price should be discussed face to face.

Tricycle
The Lhasa's manpower is one of the Lhasa's special phenomena. The tricycle stops whenever you wave your hand. After paid 3--5 Yuan RMB, you can arrive anywhere in the Lhasa downtown area.If you want to take a stroll of scenery, you san sit on a tricycle. So long as the weather is good, the Lhasa vista may look all the way.

Bicycle
many guesthouses in Lhasa rent bicycle. The common bicycle's rent is 2 Yuan / o'clock, 20 Yuan / day and sport bicycle's rent is 3 Yuan / o'clock, 30 Yuan / day.

Chartered car
In addition, you also can rent a car in Lhasa, because some scenic areas do not have bus service. Many of Lhasa's automobiles companies and travel agencies have the service of renting a car for long-distance. The expense is approximately different from 3 Yuan / kilometers to 8 Yuan / kilometers, which depends on the vehicle type and the line. In the urban district, the expense depends on days or the kilometer computation, no expense for return. Outside the urban district, the expense depends on kilometer computation and has 50% expense for return.
